MARS GOD

Mars is the Roman god of war and strongly associated with the Roman army. He is the second most important god after Jupiter. Mars typically represented in art as a Roman soldier with a spear. He was the son of those who ruled the Universe “Jupiter’ and “Juno”. Mars often represented as an amateur strong bearded man, and his appearance was more majestic than the “Ares” who was famously known and described as a young and impulsive god.

The Roman god fought a couple of battles with the demons. Thus he loves to kill those who fought for their honor. He was not very famous in humans, because of his cruelty, there is no temples and worshippers at that time. According to the Roman myth, he was the father of the twins “Romulus” and Remus” who was the former founder of the city Rome.

GREEK GOD MARS

Zeus supreme god of Olympus became married to the goddess Hera; the goddess was extremely jealous of the love Zeus fell for his prefered daughter the goddess Athena. The highest ambition of Hera was to conceive a strong, beautiful and powerful son, who could one day replace his father, Zeus.

The desire of the queen of the sky came, and she gave birth to a beautiful child who was named “Ares”. The little god grew and became increasingly more influential, but from an early age, the signs of his wrath and brutality were already famous.

Due to his violent and uncontrollable nature, some gods even feared him, and so he had a bad reputation among the god’s deities. During the clashes between men, he was delighted by the slaughter. He did not support one side of the battle because they happened to be the fearest, the most honoured or the bravest.

He intended to be fond of those who were the most violent and brutal, but he also used to help those who honoured him with proper tributes and devotions.

“Zeus” the father of Ares hated him so much, that he even said that Ares would be expelled from the Olympus by myself if he was not the son of Hera. However, Ares also had a divine follower, the goddess of discord, “Algos” the goddess of pain, the goddess of Toyo and the goddess of oblivion.

MARS DIETY

In early Roman days, Mars was an agricultural deity and the guardian of agriculture. As the Roman areas and kingdom expanding the more focus, he’s loosing on the farming part.

He was part of the Archaic Triad, with Jupiter and Quirinus. Mars was also the principal deity of warfare. In Rome, organizations celebrated his public festivals in March every year. He was also the patron of Arval brotherhood.

MARS ROMAN MYTHOLOGY

He was the son of Juno and Jupiter. Mars also regarded as the guardian of Rome. Many of his festivals held in March, the month named for him. Although “Ares” was viewed primarily as a destructive and destabilizing force.

Mars represented military power as a way to secure peace, and he was also the father of the Roman people. Mars often depicted wearing a helmet and carrying a spear. The woodpecker, the wolf and the bear were sacred to Mars.

MARS ROMAN GOD

Although Ares was the son of Zeus and Hera, Mars was the son of Juno alone. By giving birth to Minerva, Jupiter usurped the mother’s function. To restore the balance, Juno sought the advice of the goddess Flora on how to do the same.

Therefore Flora plucked a flower, touched Juno’s belly with her thumb, and impregnated her. The consort of Mars was Nerio, an ancient war goddess. As an embodiment of masculine aggression, he is the force that drives war.

MARS GREEK MYTHOLOGY

Greek name and counterpart of Mars is “Ares”. Ares was the god of war and the child of “Zeus” and “Hera”. He was one of the twelve Olympians. Unlike Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war was strategy, Ares enjoyed violence and war.

He was dangerous, greedy, destructive and overwhelming in battle. His sons Phobos, the god of fear and Deimos, the god of terror, accompanied Ares and his sister and lover Enyo, goddess of discord in his war the chariot.

He was well known as the lover of Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, who was already married to the god of Craftmanship “Hephaestus”. Ares children with the goddess Aphrodite were Eros, Anteros, Phobos, Deimos, Harmonia and Adrestia.

Many sacrifices offered to him in Sparta. They even built a statue of Ares, that statue represented the god in chains so that his spirit remained in the city of Sparta to bring them victory. They also constructed a formal temple for the god of war. Ares once angered the god of sea ‘Poseidon” by slaying his son “Halirrhothius”, who had raped Ares’ daughter Alcippe.

For this deed, Poseidon summoned Ares to appear before the trial of the Olympic gods, but the god of war was acquitted. Ares had a son called Cycnus, who was so murderous that he tried to build a temple with the skulls and bones of the travellers. But Cycnus was slain by “Heracles” before he finished his cruelty.

The god of war once put in chains and imprisoned in a bronze urn, where he stayed for thirteen months that would have been the end of the god of war Ares and his slaughtering if “Hermes” the messenger of the gods did not release him from his imprisonment.

Rhea was the daughter of Uranus, god of sky and the wife of Mars, the god of war. Rhea was known as “the mother of gods”. She was the sister of Cronus. For overthrowing his father, Cronus destined to be overthrown by one of his children.

Therefore he swallowed all of his offsprings as soon as they were born. After he swallowed Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, and Hera in that order, the sixth child Zeus was able to be saved by Rhea with the help of her parents Uranus and Gaia.

Rhea was able to trick her husband by giving him a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes, which he promptly swallowed. After giving birth to Zeus, Gaia secretly raised the infant. When Zeus reached adulthood, he forced Cronus to disgorge his siblings in reverse order in which they had swallowed, the oldest becoming the youngest.

Later Zeus released the brothers of Cronus and the Gaia. Together with his siblings and the Giants, Zeus overthrew Cronus and the other Titans.

After their loss, the Titans cast into Tartarus. Rhea worshipped in the island of Crete, where she saved the new-born Zeus from being devoured by Cronus. Hera, the wife of Zeus, was the goddess of women and marriage. She was the mother of Ares.

MARS WOMEN STATUE

Alien hunters and a Rover sent by the Nasa to Mars claimed that there is a statue of a woman warrior like the goddess of Mars. Only a few inches in size or less. It resembles a carved depiction of a female warrior wearing a helmet similar to some found on earth from the Middle Ages.

The amateur astronomer says it has all the earmarks of being the head of an ancient Egyptian warrior woman. A space video journalist Joe white claimed that he had found a potential proof of alien life similar to the goddess of war on planet Mars.
